Introduction and FAQ: Linda's Genealogy

Welcome to my family history website for the ancestors of my paternal grandparents:

Joseph Johnson (Sweden and Norway) and
Sarah Rebecca Swaner (Denmark and Sweden)

and my maternal grandparents

Fred Merrill (England) and
Evaline Phoebe Brown (early colonial America)

PURPOSE: The purpose of the website is to freely share the stories, photos, documents and pedigrees of these ancestors. If you find something of value here - please sign the guest book or register or share something of yours with me.

LIVING PEOPLE: I have avoided including any living people except when the individual or individual's parent gave permission to be included. Even then, the public view will show only the person's first initial and last name; and associated event dates and places will be hidden. People will be assumed deceased if they were born 95 years prior to the current year. If you would like to be added to this database, please email me. Likewise, if I have inadvertently included a name in error and it should be removed, please contact me.

REGISTER AS USER: While I have provided generous public access to the databases and media, viewing full names, dates and places for living people is restricted except to those who are registered. Registration enabling you to view names and information for living people will be carefully limited to close relatives i.e. cousins, aunts & uncles, etc and to more distant relatives who have demonstrated an interest in sharing and contributing to this database. Just send me an email requesting log-in rights and detailing how you are related. It is free and without any obligation except to use the information found on the site with integrity and honesty. A list of all those with log-in rights showing their relationship to a common deceased ancestor is available upon request.

DESCENDANT LINES: Because I have received numerous contacts from individuals in peripheral descendant lines, I have begun to add these lines to the pedigree, also. In general, these lines have less documentation, but they allow distant cousins to "discover each other." It has been fun making contact with them and they have contributed greatly to the database. However, my primary research is currently focused on the above mentioned ancestral lines.

CORRECTIONS/ADDITIONS: I welcome suggestions for additions and corrections. For corrections you can use the "Suggestion" tab link when it appears on a person's page or use the "Contact Us" from the home page.

USAGE TERMS: This research is a labor of love and respect for my rich heritage. Permission is given to copy pedigree information or media items for personal, non-commercial use but please credit Linda's Genealogy.org as the source. Under no circumstances may you sell or profit commercially from the use of information, documents or images from this site.
